01 Before you enrol
Absolutely. Functional fitness for kids and teens is designed with safety as the top priority, and the injury rate is lower than in many other youth sports. The difference is supervision and progression: mechanics are taught first, and intensity is only added once an athlete can demonstrate the movement properly.
We focus on teaching proper mechanics first, ensuring each athlete masters the fundamental movements before adding intensity. Our coaches provide consistent supervision and correct in the moment rather than after the fact.
Every athlete starts with a three-class on-ramp focused on mastering proper mechanics in the key movement patterns: squats, presses and hinges. Only once those hold up do we progress to loading them.
Yes. The program accommodates all fitness levels. Everyone starts with the same three-class on-ramp, so a complete beginner and an experienced athlete both begin on the same footing.
Our coaches are skilled at working with athletes of all ability levels. We use a range of teaching techniques including clear demonstrations, tactile guidance and real-life cues, and we scale movements to the athlete in front of us.
Your child will develop a broad range of physical skills including strength, endurance, flexibility and coordination. They will also gain confidence, discipline and a sense of belonging in a room where effort is the standard.
Each class is an hour long. It begins with a warm-up focused on mobility and muscle activation, moves into skill or strength work which might involve Olympic lifts, powerlifting or gymnastics depending on the day, then conditioning, then a cool-down.
